Asia Cornea Society

The formation of the Asia Cornea Society (ACS) is spurred by a common vision amongst corneal subspecialists and researchers throughout Asia to foster the exchange of knowledge and information on clinical, educational and research aspects of the corneal subspecialty with particular focus and relevance to Asian corneal diseases.The scope of corneal subspecialty that the ACS aims its focus on includes, but is not limited to corneal and external eye diseases, ocular surface disorders, corneal transplantation and other forms of corneal surgery, including keratoprosthesis surgery, corneal refractive surgery, the medical contact lens field and eye banking.

British Contact Lens Association

The British Contact Lens Association is the UK’s leading supplier of information and education on contact lenses and the anterior eye. Our mission is to promote excellence in research, manufacture and clinical practice of contact lenses and related areas. A registered charity, the BCLA is a multidisciplinary organisation representing all those involved in contact lenses and has optometrists, dispensing opticians, ophthalmologists, industry personnel, research scientists and students among its membership. We currently have around 2,000 members in nearly 40 countries around the world.

Cornea Society

The Cornea Society has been active, dedicated, and committed to the advancement of the understanding of diseases of the cornea and external eye. The Cornea Society is the single largest subspecialty society representing the subspecialty fields of cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery.

European Contact Lens Society of Ophthalmologists

The ECLSO is a federation of 25 European national contact lens societies with over 2500 members. Only ophthalmologists can become members of the society. The object of the Society is to promote contact lens practise and the study of related areas both scientifically and professionally amongst Ophthalmologists in Europe.

  

International Ocular Inflammation Society

The International Ocular Inflammation Society (IOIS) is an independent scientific society, interested in the study of ocular inflammatory diseases. The major purposes of the society are:

  • To diffuse knowledge and to stimulate research on ocular inflammatory and immune processes.
  • To foster studies on the basic mechanisms and pathogenesis of ocular immunology and inflammation.
  • To prepare "Guidelines" on the medical management and surgical approaches to the treatment of ocular inflammatory diseases.
  • To initiate and support International cooperation by fostering multi-centre studies on the major medical problems of the Ocular Inflammation.

International Ocular Surface Society

IOSS is a non-profit organization for members to gain new knowledge and skills for treating ocular surface disorders.

 

International Society of Dacryology and Dry Eye

The International Society of Dacryology is a scientific society for the research and diffusion of knowledge in the lachrymal domain and its main topics are basic research on tears, tear film and ocular surface, medical application, and lachrymal surgery. It also accepts contributions in psychology, phylogeny, ontogeny, zoology, arts, history and any topics related with tears. The Society also includes a division for the membership of patients with dry eye or any other dacryological diseases.

Medical Contact Lens and Ocular Surface Association (MCLOSA)

Medical Contact Lens and Ocular Surface Association (MCLOSA) is a subspecialist interest group which falls within the subspeciality of Cornea and External Eye Disease. The Association is committed to promoting and advancing knowledge in the diagnosis and management of diseases of the conjunctiva, cornea and sclera and keeps in focus innovations in contact lens practice.

The purpose of the Optometric Nutrition Society is:

  • To sponsor professional symposia as well as a website, and to generate materials to educate professionals regarding the role of nutrition in systemic and ocular health.
  • To provide a collegial atmosphere where health care professionals can exchange ideas and concepts regarding nutritional influences on vision.
  • To provide a resource pool of clinically relevant refereed studies that support the role of safe nutritional support for the management of ocular and systemic disease.
  • To monitor and validate claims made by industry regarding the quality and efficacy of nutritional supplements.
